Memphis’ New Signs Beckon I-40 Travelers
AP – City officials switched on the LED board this week, branding it essential to spreading the word about the convention center and the city at large. “We have felt since day one we needed some signage on the building to let people know what’s going on,” said Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau president Kevin Kane. On the west side of the convention center, the 38-foot-by-14-foot YESCO Electronics LED sign is uppermost of three signs. It has initially been programmed with seven messages, including ads for the city, the blues, barbecue and the Memphis Zoo. The lower two signs will have raised, lighted letters. Above the three signs is the center’s logo, three music notes containing the characters CCC.
